Watch: Rihanna On Oprah: Chris Brown 'Needed Help'

Rihanna says her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown has had even bigger issues on his hands, issues that may have prompted their fateful fight back in 2009.

"It was a weird, confusing space to be in," Rihanna said of the fight in a tearful taping of "Oprah's Next Chapter," set to air on Sunday, August 19. "As angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help ... and who's going to help him?" she went on to say.

Following the incident, Rihanna split from Brown, but says she still felt "protective" of him and the firestorm that would ensue.

"Nobody's going to say he needs help. Everybody's going to say he's a monster without looking at the source ... and I was more concerned about him," she told Oprah.

Despite pleading guilty to felony assault and being ordered to stay away from the singer, the status of Brown and Rihanna's relationship has continued to raise questions over the last year.

In February, Brown lent his vocals to Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" remix, a favor she returned by appearing on a remix for his single "Turn Up The Music."

The following month, Rihanna blasted Brown's girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, in a series of tweets that some called proof that the couple was dating again.

And in June, Brown and rapper Drake reportedly ruined a New York City night club in a brawl that the club owner says arose over their "shared grudge... arising out of their romantic relationships with the same woman," meaning mutual ex Rihanna.

But as contentious as her more recent public encounters have been, Oprah's sit-down with the singer revealed a much more sensitive side. "I thought she was going to be kind of badass," Oprah says in a promo for Sunday's interview, adding that "Nothing could have been further from the truth."

Rihanna: Chris Brown Has Me 'Afraid' to Love Again

The Bajan performer who seems to be everywhere these days, covers the August issue of Harper's Bazaar, and wows with snakeskin boots and a form fitting gold jumpsuit.

Ri is always pretty open and straightforward in interviews. Sometimes that surfaces as snarkiness, but rather than revert to mocking, the "Where Have You Been" singer got personal with the fashion magazine.

"[I'm] rebellious through my music, through my fashion, tattoos, and my hair," she told the magazine, adding, "I have been conservative in my love life… it’s pretty much nonexistent. If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’ll hang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just — I don’t let people in."

Rihanna dated Chris Brown until the two got into a violent physical scuffle the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. The altercation led to a felony assault charge for Brown and a painful, very public break-up for the pair.

Rihanna explained, "When I was in love, I fell so hard. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye, my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again."

Those still hankering to ask Rihanna out may want to make a note of her renewed interest in eating and plumping up her posterior.

"I don't know if there's something going on with my body right now, but I'm eating everything in life!" she said. "I miss my ass. It just went away! I need a butt. I have an idea of one, but it's not living up to its full potential right now."

Chris Brown Tweets About Rihanna's Grandmother's Death

Chris Brown showed his support for his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, after the singer recently lost her grandmother, Clara "Dolly" Braithwaite, to cancer.

Brown took to his Twitter account on Sunday to express his condolences prior to his appearance at the 2012 BET Awards.

    "Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP

Brown was among the many winners, including Beyoncé, Kanye West and Jay-Z, at Sunday’s awards ceremony, taking home the Fandemonium and Best Male R&B Artist award.

Coldplay have just released an acoustic version of their latest Rihanna-assisted new single ‘Princess of China’. This rendition is more cleaner than the original as you can hear Rihanna’s harmonising to sharper,

echo-y effect. It doesn’t sound like a legit acoustic because it appears that the vocals from the original recording have been dubbed over a guitar instrumental.

A raw vocal delivery from both parties would have made this version that extra bit special. As nice as it sounds, I still prefer the original production, because something about this is missing and in part, it begs for a beat.

Jay-Z may have the face of somebody’s Grandpa (well, my mum was HIS age when she became a Grandmother), and he may still dress like he’s still 20, but he showed

the entire world just why he is thee legendary rapper. Jiggaman did his thang with levels of swag through the roof. Rihanna’s vocals have improved but she still cant hit all the right notes. Granted, it was not her best vocal but she looked hot and pulled it off.

Rapper M.I.A comes on and her mic screws up a bit, but she still delivered a blast and boy, wasn’t Beyonce enjoying it? Then Kanye West shows up, and they do the ‘Watch The Throne’ tour set essentially for free. Concertgoers that paid must be pissed, but Beyonce stanning for her man was really cute to me. She was wilding out, and even participated in a mosh pit at the end!

Rihanna Shows Off her New Egyptian Falcon Ink Tattoo (Photos)

Fifteen plus and counting, Rihanna doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon when it comes to her growing tattoo collection.

The singer recently stopped by Bang Bang Tattoos on New York City's Lower East Side to get tatted up -- this time with an Egyptian falcon in the shape of a gun.

"Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep," the singer tweeted Saturday, along with a photo of her new body art.

Rihanna's weapon-inspired tattoo comes on the heels of her ex-flames' violent fight at a New York nightclub. Chris Brown and Drake were involved in the bar brawl that left members of the singers' camps and innocent bystanders injured. No arrests have been made in connection with the altercation.

Jay-Z gives Rihanna ultimatum: Go to rehab or be dropped

The rapper has allegedly told the singer to get help with her partying or he will be forced to cut her from his label.

Jay-Z has apparently given Rihanna an ultimatum – go into rehab or get off my record label. 

The rapper is said to have grown tired of Rihanna’s constant partying, which has seen her out until early hours before concerts, visiting strip clubs and being hospitalised for exhaustion. 

The singer has allegedly been warned that she will be dropped from the label if she does not seek help to calm herself down. 

A source told Closer Magazine, “Rihanna has been out of control for months. She was supposed to catch a flight back to the UK last week, but she ended up missing it, which was the final straw for management.

“Jay-Z hit the roof when he found out, and told Rihanna, 'Go to rehab now or I'll drop you from the label.' She's not happy, but she now feels she has no choice.”

The singer tweeted that she had been given the day off to recover recently, but the source went on to say that she requires much more than just a day. 

“She's reached breaking point. Ri says she's physically and mentally exhausted and feeling lost. I think she desperately needs help and some time off - not just from work but from all the other stresses in her life too.”

They were referring to her stress and upset over her grandmother’s cancer battle.

Chris Brown and Rihanna party in NY

Chris Brown sent champagne to Rihanna when they partied in the same nightclub at the weekend.

The former couple - who split in 2009 after the 'Yeah 3x' singer assaulted his then-girlfriend - sat at different tables at New York's SL on Saturday (09.06.12) but onlookers say they were very aware of one another inside the club.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "After Chris made his way into SL with a group of friends, Rihanna pulled up with her own group of friends. The infamous exes sat far enough from each other to not be able to talk, but close enough to keep an eye on one another.

"Chris sent Rihanna two bottles of Ace of Spades Champagne. DJ Sinatra had both Rihanna and Chris dancing at their tables."

The meeting comes a few weeks after Rihanna came face-to-face with Chris and his current girlfriend Karreueche Tran at Los Angeles club Greystone Manor but things were not so friendly.

A source said at the time: "Chris and Rihanna sat a few tables away from each other and shot dirty looks at each other all night.

"No one saw them actually interact. Rihanna was escorted to the bathroom multiple times and walked by Chris' table each time, not even batting an eyelash."

Rihanna and Chris recently worked together on two tracks, 'Turn Up the Music' and 'Birthday Cake' and Rihanna recently admitted she was surprised about the backlash over the collaboration.

She said: "I thought people were gonna be surprised that we finally did a record together, but I didn't see how people could think it was a bad thing. In my mind, it was just music.

"I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that's a whole different discussion. And if I ever do, then that's something that y'all have to talk to me about when - if - that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is."

Rihanna Defends Chris Brown Collaboration

Although several eyebrows were raised when Rihanna decided to collaborate with Chris Brown on her suggestive single "Birthday Cake", the singer claims she was surprised by the backlash surrounding the song.

During an interview with Esquire UK, the "Talk That Talk" singer defended her decision to work with Brown, saying, "It never occurred to me how this was going to be a problem. I thought people were gonna be surprised that we finally did a record together, but I didn't see how people could think it was a bad thing, you know? In my mind, it was just music . . . I could never see anything wrong with making music."

When asked to clarify rumors that she and Brown have secretly been hooking three years after he violently assaulted her, Rihanna said, "[I worked with Brown] in a completely professional environment. I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that's a whole different discussion."

The Barbados born singer then quipped, "If I ever do, then that's something that y'all have to talk to me about when -- if -- that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is."

As for the sexually-based lyrics in "Birthday Cake", RiRi denies it has anything to do with their current relationship. "That was the tone before [he] was ever on the record," the songstress snaps. "You think it was going to be about hopscotch or jump rope?"

Before wrapping up the interview, Rihanna continued her irritated venting by adding, "There’s a lot of sh-- y’all can’t get over. Y’all holding your breath on a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter. When you realize who you live for, and who’s important to please, a lot of people will actually start living. I am never going to get caught up in that. I’m gonna look back on my life and say that I enjoyed it — and I lived it for me."

Katy Perry wants to have s*x with Rihanna.

The 'Firework' singer - who split from husband Russell Brand in November - was asked if she would ever collaborate with her close friend and though she ruled out working on a record with the star, she joked that they would do something more intimate instead.

She joked to US radio station Wild 94.9: "No, but we're going to have s*x."

Katy was also asked if she listens to her own music when she is having s*x and said it would be "over the line".

She said: "I'm not a narcissist! OK, I'm a narcissist, but that would be over the line.

"Having s*x to your own song, that's horrible. I'm a good Christian girl."

The raunchy conversation continued with Katy questioned on whether she has ever had a threesome but the star would only say "no comment".

Despite her jokes, Katy has previously confirmed she will collaborate on a song with Rihanna but wants to make sure it is "iconic".

She said:  "It's one of those things that's got so much build up that we have to deliver...I definitely want to do something that is so iconic.

"We're both busy but we planted the seed two years ago. How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it's no good?"

At this point, nothing Rihanna says surprises us anymore, but we have to admit we're slightly amused by comments she recently made about her current celebrity crush.

Because Rihanna is n*de more often than she is clothed these days, it's again unsurprising that the singer is t*pless on the July cover of Esquire UK. In a new interview with the magazine the 24-year-old confesses that she has a big crush on British pop star Cheryl Cole.

"Ooh! Cheryl Cole is hot. I would just like to watch her work. Preferably cleaning things on the floor. Picking up stuff on the floor. Bending over," she told the magazine. "She’s hot!" she continued. "I mean, literally... she’s so beautiful.”

Rihanna seems to be crushing on Cole, but the admiration might not be mutual. The 28-year-old British pop star has been sending mixed messages about her feelings for Rihanna, first telling the British version of GQ that she loves that Rihanna "doesn't give two f**ks" and calling her a "perfect pop star." That sounds like high praise, but days later Cole called the "We Found Love" singer a "free spirit" in reference to her frequent outbursts on Twitter -- and didn't exactly mean it as a compliment.

"[Rihanna] doesn't care if she calls somebody a c**t on Twitter, but there are 12-year-old girls on there," Cole told Attitude magazine.

Though the two singers are friends, Rihanna hasn't been known to deal well with criticism.

Rihanna Shares T*pless photo From 'Where Have You Been'

In a rather successful attempt to keep her in name in the headlines and pictures on webpages, Rihanna uploaded 188 behind-the-scenes pictures from her latest music video, Where Have You Been? to her

Facebook page today. Seeing as the singer spends a good amount of time n*ked with painted-on green scales, the stills from those scenes really show off her toned body.

The video, which has a dark, swampy feel, alternates from dance sequences in a misty forest, a Middle Eastern-tinged desert where she's outfitted in Zebra print and pirate pants, to a nod toward Cleopatra nestled in the Nile.

Last night, Brown messaged, "Assumptions! I didn't say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about."

Earlier today, the Barbadian beauty took a shot back at Brown by tweeting," .....That's cuz her name iz Rihanna".

Rihanna released her new video for “Where Have You Been” this morning .

The “We Found Love” songstress’ new clip is chock full of cool choreography, jungle-style clothing, and plenty of Ri-Ri writhing around.

During her making-of footage for the video, Rihanna confessed that the final day of the shoot she and her crew were hard at work for more than 17 hours to get things perfect.

And over the weekend, Rihanna took to her Twitter page to remind her loyal followers to bombard her VEVO page and enjoy the video goodness.
